Production

Our veterinarians can assist with improving herd and flock production through identifying diseases, improving animal husbandry practices, and offering diagnostic services to assist with management decisions.

Pregnancy Diagnosis

Pregnancy Diagnosis

  • Can be performed on pregnancies from 6 weeks gestation onwards
  • For the most accurate results it is recommended that the bull be removed from the herd for a period of 6 weeks prior to pregnancy diagnosis, as pregnancies under 6 weeks are not reliably detectable, or viable
  • Pregnancy diagnosis benefits any producer, from large scale to hobby farmer, as production is based on reproduction
  • Performing pregnancy diagnosis on early pregnancies can assist producers to make prompt management decisions based on the results
  • If conception rates are poor our veterinarians can assist to investigate the probable cause and the likelihood of this result occurring again

Foetal Ageing

Foetal Ageing

  • Can be performed accurately from 42 – 120 days gestation and is a great management tool to utilise for producers performing AI and using a mop-up bull put with the herd 10 days later
  • Foetal ageing within this window can identify which calves will be from the AI, and which will be from the mop-up bull

Bull Testing

Using Australian Veterinary Association Bull Breeding Soundness Evaluation standards, we can examine conformation and genitalia, collect semen, and assess a bull’s breeding soundness on farm, crush side, as well as send semen samples away for morphology testing if further analysis is required
